In 1990, after 20 years of making his own fine furniture, Wohl began to produce cutting boards on the side out of his shop. The Edward Wohl Cutting Board (1990), with distinct shapes and materials, became a big hit. Each is made from a single piece of carefully selected bird’s-eye maple for consistent tone and figuring, precision-shaped and beveled for graceful shape and balance, and finally sanded and oiled by hand. Due to their natural composition, these boards will vary from one to the next, exhibiting varied tones and grain structures ‘ no two are alike. Treat occasionally with mineral oil.
